Prep School Course | Freshman Course | Alt. Freshman Course The Freshman course is designed for modelers with little or no model shipbuilding experience. The course is based on the Model Shipway's kit, Armed Virginia Sloop (MS2160). This course is slightly more complex than the Prep School Course in that the hull planking is double layered and slightly more difficult to construct. The course shows two different methods for planking a model ship's hull and the course takes you step by step through the planking of the hull for both methods. |
| The course takes you through the entire construction of the model with no modifications to the kits design. Several design flaws in the kit are pointed out and corrected. Masting and rigging are covered as well as the construction of the launching ways that is included in the kit. And we provide a private forum area on our website forum just for Sloop customers so that they can get assistance at any time. This course comes on CD and has 9 chapters in all.
