The Fair American kit is our first true plank on frame kit in the Craftsman style. The kit is based on the plans drawn by Clayton A. Feldman, MD with his permission. This is a stylized kit and is not meant to be an exact replica of the actual ship. Certain changes in the ship's design were made to enable lesser experiencd modelers the opportunity to build a true plank on frame model without the need for special power tools, lots of shop space or considerable model shipbuilding experience. However, these changes do not take away from the beauty of an admiralty style model. And our CNC milling of all kit parts makes building this model the most enjoyable aspect of it all.
