The Lauck Street Shipyard is proud to provide the Admiralty Series™, true plank on frame kits in the Craftsman style. Our kits are designed from accurate plans using the latest technologies such as CAD (compuer aided design) for drawing, CAM (computer aided machining) and CNC (computer numeric control) for production, and Microsoft software for the creation of detailed instructions. Our goal is to produce quality kits in the Craftsman style. We do not produce large quantities of these kits because each kit is hand crafted, not mass produced. And unlike most major kit manufactures, we provide support for each of our kits so that you will suceed in building them.

I design each kit myself using AutoCAD and working from accurate and reliable drawings. The design of these kits is stylized and is not meant to be an exact replica of the original ship. Certain features of the kit's design is such that the kit will be easier to build and easier to produce. Small modifications may be made to the original ship's design to achieve this goal but such modifications do not take away from the beauty of these true plank on frame models.

We use only domestic woods such as cherry for framing, aspen for deck planking, walnut for deck details and cherry/aspen/walnut/pine for outer planking. These woods provide for rich colors and contrast with minimal grain.

Our first true plank on frame kit introducd in June 2005 was the Fair American based on the plans drawn by Clayton A. Feldman, MD. Our second kit, the Halifax based on the plans drawn by Harold M. Hahn was intruduced in January 2007. Learn more about these great kits from the Lauck Street Shipayrd by clicking on the links below.
