Sophomore Course Pride of Baltimore

This Sophomore Course is based on the Model Shipways kit, Pride of Baltimore (MS2120). This course consists of 12 chapters and covers the complete construction of the model including masting and rigging. Our mini-practicum, Modeling Ship's Boats, is included with this course.

It is ideal for modelers with little some model shipbuilding experience. No modifications are made to the design of the kit. The hull planking consists of a single layer, and the entire hull is painted.

With this course, the modeler will learn a simple technique to hull planking, how to build deck furniture, how to make ship's boats and much more. The rigging on this model, although simple, is a step up from the Freshman Course Armed Virginia Sloop. The course teaches many of the basics of model shipbuidling as well as more complex techniques and is a stepping stone to kit bashing and even more complex models.

The course comes on CD. An optional photo CD is available containing all photos taken when the model was built.

The kit must be purchased separately and is available from Model Expo.
