The Senior Course Hannah is a scratchbuilt course based on the plans drawn by Harold Hahn. This course is designed for modelers with some scratchbuilding experience.
The course takes you through the complete construction of the hull but not masting and rigging. The course includes 30 minutes of video clips that show you how to make a frame using the Hahn method of sistered frame blanks.
The course consists of 15 chapters. The model was built using the kit wood available from The Lumberyard. Because Harold Hahn died years ago at age 95 and his son, Chris Hahn no longer offers the plans that this practicum was originally designed for, I developed all new CAD drawings with all frames and details shown in Hahn's original plans. My CAD drawings are in 1/4" scale and except for 2 drawings, can be printed on 8-1/2" x 11" paper.
Before Harold died, I had obtained his permission to develop kits based on his plans. I developed a framing set with a right side up jig for the Hannah. The drawings for that framing set as well as the framing instructions are also included with this practicum. The original practicum was based on the wood package from The Lumberyard which is still available with stripwood and laser cut parts for the keel, stem, sternpost and stern deadwood as well as the upsidedown framing jig.
