Volume V of my Detailed Guide to Building Model Ships covers making ship's armament which includes cannons, carronades and swivel cannons. This volume shows the different styles of cannon carriages and carronade carriages you might encounter in a kit. It also shows how to make a detailed cannon carriage from scratch. It covers different carronade carriages and swivel cannon mounts.
 
Special attention is given to the rigging of a cannon or carronade carriage and there is complete instructions on how to draw a 3D cannon using TurboCAD which can be downloaded and used for 30 days absolutely free. With a 3D drawing of a cannon, you can use the services of Shapeways to have your custom cannon barrel 3D printed.
 
Throughout this book and all future volumes, photos of some of my earliest model ships built fill in empty spaces. You'll see the numerous photos of my first Fair American model, HMAV Bounty model as well as my scratchbuilt HMY Fubbs model. 
 
Each volume is printed in full color on glossy paper. Even the book's front and back cover are on heavy stock glossy paper.
